Vision and Responsibility -Faye





From doing the prototypes, we were able to get a better vision for the overall project. We want to create a relatable RPG that has realistic elements but also has exaggerated comedic moments to keep the player engaged and entertained.
Another way we aim to keep the player engaged is by adding puzzles alongside the interactions with the NPCs and environment. The puzzles will throw the player off track and have them alter their routes and plans so they can progress further.
My main responsibility within the project right now is creating the art/assets. I have been mainly working on the main characters walk cycle. I have also created rough sketches of the first level, inside the house. These sketches were for a prototype to show the core mechanics, but I will be creating more polished versions soon.
This prototype will be a vertical slice to help us learn what's working and what isn't. Things like having a greyscale background or a fully coloured one is something we want answered with this test.
I am responsible for the level design of the house in the first level at the moment. Me and Ava have chosen to work together on the level design, so I have decided to take lead on the first level while she works on the programming.
We are yet to finish a fully working dialogue system and have been using a very simple system for tests, this is something that I will also be working on alongside Ava I have some something similar in previous projects.
Something I am excited to add to the project later down the line is the post processing as I think it'll develop the environments and immerse the player!
